Tiffany Smith joined CHHS as a Policy Analyst in March 2019 and is currently working for Howard County’s Office of Emergency Management in Ellicott City. At Howard County, Tiffany works on Mitigation projects. Tiffany received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science at Towson University in 2012. Tiffany earned a Master’s Degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management at Towson University in 2015. For her thesis, Tiffany researched the impact of the Post Katrina Emergency Management Reform Act (PKEMRA) on Baltimore County in collaboration with the former Director of the Baltimore County Office of Emergency Preparedness. The paper explored how PKEMRA impacted Baltimore County’s increase in use of Social Media to prepare the public for all hazards. Tiffany is excited to use her interest in emergency management and begin her journey with CHHS.
