Kirby McMahon joined CHHS in August of 2019. He earned his law degree from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law and a B.A. in History from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Mr. McMahon specializes in legal research and the development of law and policy handbooks, plans, and reports. He has assisted in the development of legal handbooks for major corporations and county governments, as well as risk analysis and vulnerability projects for Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission. In addition, Mr. McMahon assisted in the development of Prince George’s County Maryland’s after action report for the COVID-19 pandemic.
During law school Mr. McMahon served as an Articles Editor for the Journal of Business and Technology Law, where his article on financial regulation policy was selected for publication. Mr. McMahon also participated in the law school’s Public Health Law Clinic where he testified before the Maryland General Assembly on the importance of combatting food insecurity in vulnerable populations.
In addition to his work with CHHS, Mr. McMahon completed an internship with the Maryland Emergency Management Agency, where he assisted in the recovery efforts for the 2018 Ellicott City Flooding.
He was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 2019.
