The workshop activities will focus on facilitating dialogue between state emergency management officials and procurement staff from the six jurisdictions of FEMA Region III (MD, DC, VA, WV, DE, PA), and private sector representatives, toward developing public-private partnerships that both supplement state resource capabilities and bolster business continuity in times of emergency. The day’s schedule of activities and speakers is specifically tailored toward exploring the concept and establishment of a Business Operations Center (BOC) – how BOCs are formed, who they include, and how they function in an emergency. Also, speakers with BOC experience in other states will discuss similar methods of public-private partnering within FEMA Region III.
