Michael Stallings joined CHHS in September 2007. Mr. Stallings holds a BA in Political Science and History from Villanova University (2003) and a JD from the University of Maryland School of Law (2007). While in law school, Mr. Stallings interned for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security where he worked on various legislative issues, including congressional reauthorization of DHS entities and FEMA response protocol to state requests for major disaster and emergency declarations. Also during law school, Mr. Stallings volunteered in the Orleans Parish (Louisiana) Public Defender’s Office and served as a judicial intern in the chambers of the Hon. Paul W. Grimm, U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. At CHHS, Mr. Stallings serves as the Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff of the National Capital Region (NCR) Senior Policy Group. Through this position he provides legal and policy analysis in support of the NCR's Homeland Security Advisors and Emergency Managers' efforts to improve regional preparedness and response capabilities through the DHS Urban Area Security Initiatives Grant and other federal, state, and local programs. He is admitted to practice law in Maryland.
