Kimberly Nagel, MA

Biography

Ms. Kimberly Nagel joined CHHS in March 2009 as a Senior Policy Analyst. She has seven years experience as a homeland security and emergency management contractor, focusing on exercises, emergency planning, and policy development for federal, state, and local governments. Most recently, she served as a regional planner for the Virginia Department of Emergency Management. As a contractor at other firms, Ms. Nagel gained experience in preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation. She performed duties in support of senior federal government executives for policy development, addressing issues including capability preparedness, security, and consequence management. She has a thorough understanding of policy and plan development, review, and revision at the local and state level of government. Ms. Nagel has experience in emergency planning including Emergency Operations Plans (EOPs), evacuation, sheltering, resource management, recovery, and deployment support. Ms. Nagel has participated in more than 50 exercises in the development, conduct, and evaluation of tabletop, functional, and full-scale exercises with a focus on pandemic, COOP, natural hazard, terrorism, and CBRNE-related incidents. Ms. Nagel has a strong background in program management, including staff allocation, budgeting and client relations.
