Alexandra Podolny joined CHHS in May 2005 as a Law and Policy Analyst. Ms. Podolny holds a BA in Economics from the University of Maryland College Park and a JD from the University of Maryland School of Law. While in law school, she served as Associate Articles Editor for The Business Lawyer, clerked for the Law Offices of Harry S. Seigel and the Office of the Maryland Attorney General, and interned for the D.C. Department of Insurance and Securities Regulation. She is admitted to practice law in Maryland. Ms. Podolny is a certified U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Instructor and was an author of the DHS/FEMA- certified “Preparing the States: Implementing Continuity of Operations Planning” course, for which she also serves as Program Manager. Ms. Podolny's duties at CHHS have included drafting the second version of the Maryland COOP Manual that was used to develop COOP plans for numerous state and local agencies in Maryland. As Associate Director, she has also supervised numerous COOP projects for state and local agencies, academic institutions, and various other organizations. In addition to her duties at CHHS, Ms. Podolny is the author of a Baltimore-based food and entertainment blog, Black Coffee and a Donut.
