CHHS Founder and Director Michael Greenberger was interviewed on CCTV America after the mass shooting at Navy Yard about US national security. Greenberger provided insight into the national security clearance systems that he thinks is broken. The system often has contractors doing clearances for other contractors, which is a weak system that can be easily evaded. The Navy Yard shooter was a sub-contractor with clearance. He points to Edward Snowden as an example of an employee of a contractor who should have never gained a high security clearance. Greenberger also mentioned the need to place mental health higher on the list of evaluating criteria.
