CHHS Director Michael Greenberger joins economist Paul Volcker, billionaire philanthropist George Soros, and a prestigious list of other experts featured in the new film “Inside Job,” a Sony Pictures Classics documentary that exposes the root causes of the global economic crisis of 2008.

Produced, written, and directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Charles Ferguson, “Inside Job” takes Wall Street to task and traces the “rise of a rogue industry and unveils the corrosive relationships [that] have corrupted politics, regulation, and academia.” Commentary from U.S. Rep. Barney Frank, University of San Diego law professor Frank Partnoy, and International Monetary Fund managing director Dominique Strauss-Kahn is also included in the film, along with interviews with other prominent professors, journalists, and economic leaders.

“Inside Job” opens on Oct. 8 in New York City and Oct. 15 in Los Angeles.

Prof. Greenberger teaches a seminar at the University of Maryland School of Law entitled "Futures, Options and Derivatives," and he is a Technical Expert to the United Nations Commission of Experts on Reform of the International Monetary and Financial System. He is a former director of the Division of Trading and Markets at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and he is frequently asked to speak at symposia, appear in the media, and testify before lawmakers at regulatory bodies on issues related to dysfunctions in financial markets.
