Wednesday, April 13, 2011 - 8:30am - 10:15am
Carnegie Endowment for International Peace
1779 Massachusetts Avenue NW
Washington, DC

Professor Greenberger will speak at a meeting hosted by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy, and Heinrich Boll Stiftung. The meeting will discuss current initiatives to regulate excessive speculation in agricultural and energy commodities, including in the unregulated over-the-counter (OTC) market. Two panels will address issues in effective reform of the commodity markets, challenges to international regulatory cooperation, and how developing countries have responded to increasing import bills for agricultural and energy commodities and to volatile commodity export revenues.
